Machines Used in Package Manufacturing

time2010/12/21

Packaging machines are changing the way food products and other items that you buy and use are delivered to you from the factory. Machines used in packaging manufacturing can be simple to complex depending on the type of product being packaged. Although there are many different types of packing machines, some are used more than others in many different manufacturing industries.
Matrix
The matrix is a vertical packaging machine that creates a bag. The film is brought from the back of the machine to the front of the machine where there is a forming collar, which forms the film into a round bag. The bottom of the bag is sealed as the product is dropped through the forming collar feed tube into the bag and the jaws clamp together to form the top seal. The machine can be used for bulk food products such as puddings, cake mixes and other dry bulk food products.
Langen
The Langen carton machine allows the manufacturer to physically or automatically place a bag or product into a box as it moves down the line. At the end of the filling process, the box is sealed on both ends and ejected from the machine where it is hand packed or automatically packed in a shipping container, such as a corrugated box. There are different types of Langen packing machines, and each one is used for many different product and packing needs. The Langen can be used for dry food packaging or other products, such as golf balls or lighters that are sold in cartons.
Shrink Wrapper
The automatic shrink wrapper has a film that is run through forming guides. As the product is placed on the conveyor belt, it is automatically fed into the film forming a loose bubble bag. The conveyor continues to feed the bag through a heat tunnel where the shrink wrap film shrinks down to form a tight seal and fit to the product. The shrink wrapper is used in many manufacturing industries including dry food packaging, clothes industries and video game packaging.
